Studio for Earthen Architecture was born from a deep engagement with soil, lime, and the wisdom of vernacular builders across Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and coastal regions.

With over six years of hands-on site experience, our practice focuses on climate-responsive, flood-resilient and material-sensitive architecture. We believe that buildings must age gracefully and return to the earth with dignity.

Inspired by the legacy of Laurie Baker, our work bridges traditional craftsmanship and contemporary needs.

Our Evolution

Where we began

Our work began with a close study of land, climate, materials, and the people who build with them. Each project became a way to record what the soil, craft, and community could teach us.

How the practice grew

Over time, that study grew into a practice shaped by patient observation, responsible detailing, and a belief that buildings should age gracefully with their surroundings.
